<p>The ideal candidate should have extensive experience and insight into IBM AIX, and be comfortable working in an international environment.</p> <p>This role will carry the responsibility of providing 2nd and 3rd level support on AIX and provide enterprise-wide Unix System infrastructure support for complex system and interconnected technologies that require day-to-day support and administration in order to maintain optimum performance and utilization.</p> <p><strong>Job Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage the operating system configurations and various day-to-day operational tasks.</li> <li>Support the server operating system, system management software and operating system utilities, including upgrades and migrations</li> <li>Recommend operating system updates and configuration modifications.</li> <li>Maintain tools for remote management and alert monitoring.</li> <li>Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to platform and operating system.</li> <li>Corporate with other internal technical teams to continuously improve monitoring, operational routines and processes</li> <li>Coordinate changes with stakeholders and the customer</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.</li> <li>5+ years of experience and “hands-on” exposure on IBM AIX is a must.</li> <li>Relevant Professional Certifications on IBM AIX.</li> <li>Exposure to other UNIX based systems such as Solaris, HP-UX and Linux.</li> <li>Basic understanding of enterprise grade storage systems (SAN’s) and networking.</li> <li>Experience on supporting large environments and heterogeneous environments.</li> <li>Ability to take initiatives and carry out expected tasks with minimum supervision.</li> <li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written).</li> </ul> <p>He / she will receive a competitive remuneration package as per industry standards along with other fringe benefits.</p> <p>If you are confident that you are the ideal candidate for this position, e-mail your resume with a recent photo and two non-related referees, to <a href="mailto:recruitment@99x.no">recruitment@99x.no</a> within 10 days of this advertisement, stating “Systems Specialist - AIX” in the subject line.
