Accountabilities
-Drive the wheel of technical direction of the performance engineering team.
-Help to build the performance engineering best practices, standardization and strategies.
-Technical owner of Stability and Peak readiness, driver of Chaos testing.
-Collaborate with the Product Managers and DevOps teams to translate SLA, User Experiences and software design trade-off into the performance requirements.
-Understand performance requirements and help defining performance testing objectives
-Be updated with latest performance engineering trends and technologies and adopt them accordingly.
-Partner with Architects, Developers, Systems Engineers and Database Administrators to collaboratively tune systems.
-Communicate the technical updates to the performance engineering leadership and execs on need basis.
-Review performance strategies and key performance indicators
-Adhere to company and departmental standards and guidelines.
-Should support & monitor initiatives to achieve organization objectives. Suggest corrective actions
-Keep a track and monitor the Pearson Lanka and SQE department goals and make sure those goals are adhered by the teams. Escalate to leadership when required. Own and drive teams achieving goals within the initiative. Helping the leadership create organization level goals and identifying ways and methods to achieve them.
-Support the Pearson Lanka SQE interview and Recruitment process. Active involvement and making decisions in the Pearson Lanka SQE interview and Recruitment process.
-Awareness of release process, all SQE artifacts, Tools and methodologies in the organization
-Provide necessary tools, technology and methods to understand requirement better
-Responsible for On time delivery and timely escalations/update of risks, issues, status and exemptions to leadership
-Should have the good knowledge and able to support and troubleshoot any difficulties in executing performance scripts
-Should drive the technical needs to support product roadmaps and project needs
-Effective communication with the team, leadership, internal and external customers covering all aspects of team needs.
-Good Knowledge of agile development practice and QA activities in the organization
-Support to improve the QE process and drive team to adhere
-Mandatory to own and drive a initiative
-Effectively participate in training organized by team/Organization and ability self-learn on domain and tools. Identify training requirements by skill gap analysis for the teams and escalate through initiative leadership
-Ability conduct training on domain/skill area
-Maintain high team morale while working with other departments collaborative manner
-Should be able to take over unplanned tasks when required. Make sure unplanned activities are managed and minimized
-Actively involved in team events and organizing events
-Mentor and manage the SQE Team on delivery and carrier expectations - Give constructive timely feedback to the reportees and follow-up feedback for better improvements
-Own and complete successfully any other duties as assigned by the reporting manager
Qualifications
- BSc in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent professional qualification.
- 2 years in the Asst. SQE Architect Designation.
- Thorough knowledge on Software Quality Assurance and testing.
- Good knowledge of software development, the software development lifecycle and awareness of the industry trends.
- Excellent Analytical, Problem solving and decision making skills.
- Ability to self-learn and grasp the knowledge quickly.
- Good knowledge in Object oriented concepts and simple SQL Queries and DB tools
- Good Knowledge in at least one software development tool
- Ability to express and articulate the subject clearly & accurately
- Ability to carry the right information & right people
- Should have an aptitude in reconciling business requirements with testing requirements with help of other stakeholders.
- Should have good understanding on Test Management, automation and performance tools and should be able to learn and adapt to new tools.
- Expert ability to identify performance issues within different architectures (.NET/JAVA) Database, Operating system , System, Network, Software and Hardware.
- Knowledge of multiple performance engineering tools and protocols.
- Understand system, database and network architecture
