Database Administrator - Oracle
The Database Administrator ensures maintaining the databases in good working order and performing tasks necessary to ensure continued growth and stability of the database.
Roles and responsibilities
Database Administration tasks.
- Install and configure Oracle Database server.
- Monitor the Jobs and Alerts and carry out corrective tasks as required.
- Perform backups and restores.
- Configure and Monitor the Replications and corrective actions as required
- Configure RAC , monitor and corrective actions as required
- Applies updates and upgrades to production database / staging environments.
- Monitoring existing installations and fine tuning for better performance
Closely work with the Development teams to play the role of trusted advisor on all Database related work.
- Read requirement documents and Design Databases based on them and preparing ER diagrams
- Writing Database code including stored procedures and triggers
- Implement and Maintain the industry best practices
- Optimize SQL queries and suggest alternative methods to enhance the efficiency.
- Identify potential performance / security vulnerabilities and bad coding patterns and propose / implement solution to overcome those.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT
- 3 Years’ experience in Development / Database administration
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Key Technical Competencies
- Depth knowledge in Oracle DBA administration activities.
- Proficient in OOP concepts
- Proficient in SQL
- Good Knowledge in writing Stored Procedures
- Good Knowledge in relational database design
- Proficient in Linux and shell scripting’s

- Ability to be flexible and adapt to any given situation
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently in a high stressed environment
- Excellent customer service attitude, communication skills (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills

License/certifications required
- Preference given to (OCP) Oracle certified professionals
