Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure that there is an overall view taken throughout all countries regarding product, by establishing strong levels of communication with the technical and cross functional teams.
  • Ensure that the proper structure exists in region and that it is in alignment with production requirements, in terms of capacity, capability and technical expectations.
  • Establish a strong working relationship with Merchandising and Raw Material teams to ensure that we have visibility on all projections and Technical trends.
  • Assess and appraise the sampling and pre-production capability of vendors within the technical development process, identifying areas of weakness and agreeing on programs of continuous improvement and building vendor capability and skill level to support the sourcing strategy.
  • Ensure that all customer expectations are understood and achieved from sampling through to final execution.
  • Establish strong lines of communication with Brands throughout the Asian region and the US.
  • Ensure that all factories are following the Standard Operating Practices and are updated to stay ahead of expectations.
  • Provide technical training to the business including advice and support on all issues regarding garment fit and construction.
  • Develop and apply effective systems of quality management, both internally and with vendors, to support the development process and assure final product quality, strong connections with the QAPE team to cascade the right quality, first time.
  • Stay closely to the Brands business leaders on establishing the sourcing strategy and certifying key vendors.
  • Act as a positive, proactive, supportive partner, consistently demonstrating our shared values and high standards.
  • Ensure we maintain the integrity of the brand.

 

Qualifications

 

  • College degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years related work experience in various stages of garment manufacturing process in a factory – cutting, sewing, production management and quality control.
  • A recognized expert with about 8 years of pattern making/grading, garment construction and machinery limitations.
  • Able to provide constructive solutions and directions for manufacturer to improve fit and product appearance.
  • A strong leader to inspire and develop a team of managers.
  • Strong analytical skills to solve complex technical problems which impact the business.
