Project Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The primary responsibilities of this position are project management, requirements analysis for software development initiatives with product management. Projects include new product development and IT projects, internal development, implementation and/or integration of third party applications. Escalation and coordination point for the project management issues from local and offshore groups.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs requirement analysis for feature enhancements of and changes to existing products
- Organizes, conducts, and attends release, iteration, and planning meetings with product managers and key stakeholders to create agile project plans by defining clear, attainable objectives and milestones
- Determines milestones to meet minimally viable products as defined by product champions, and what will be needed to meet milestone (time, materials, etc.), the scope of project and how the scope fits into the milestone timelines
- Drives or oversees iteration planning to creates tasks, and work with project team to determine and refine estimates based on departmental abilities and constraints
- Authors, maintains, and applies detailed project plans to support software development, hardware installations, and a variety of integration projects.
- Performs risk analysis for projects
- Provides detailed weekly status reports on all active projects
- Provides release and iteration metrics on a monthly basis
- Facilitates lessons learned or large retrospectives
- Assists project managers with implementing lessons learned from other projects
- Recommends and implements process improvements within the program management group
- Acts as an Agile coach and process expert resource for project managers.
- Manages, mentors and trains project managers
- Manages internal client expectations
- Facilitates project approval process with management, project documents and other related materials
- Coordinates and resolves issues escalated from the offshore development group
- Creates and maintains relationships across the organization
- Works with team leaders to manage both dedicated and matrixed resources

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Individual should possess a Bachelors degree preferably in Computing or Information Technology/Management.
Individual should have 5-7 years of experience in software development projects as dev or qa engineer with at least 2 years as Project Manager with skills and experience in Internet technologies and Project Management tools.
All candidates will be technically evaluated at the time of hiring on their software engineering aptitude.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Intermediate experience or knowledge required in the following areas: technical writing
- Strong ability to foster and maintain positive creative agile project teams.
- Advanced experience or knowledge required in the following areas: requirements analysis; agile project management; Iteration and Release Planning;
- Advanced knowledge of Internet technologies, concepts and applied background in Software Development Methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of full life-cycle development.
- Strong knowledge in agile methodologies.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to manage project managers.
- Understanding of resource allocation across projects
- Excellent customer service attitude, communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
