Overview:
A private garden in Kuwait is seeking a skilled and experienced Head Gardener to lead the horticultural management of a private, climate-adapted garden known for its collection of rare and experimental plant species. The ideal candidate will demonstrate both technical expertise and creative vision, with a strong commitment to plant health, sustainable practices, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all daily garden operations and supervise a team of gardeners
Design and implement seasonal flower arrangements and planting schemes
Lead propagation efforts from seeds and cuttings, including rare and exotic species
Conduct specialized pruning and plant care based on species-specific requirements
Manage and maintain the garden’s irrigation systems, ensuring efficiency and consistency
Identify and treat plant pests and diseases, prioritizing organic and sustainable solutions
Monitor and improve soil health, including compost management and amendments
Maintain accurate records of plantings, flowering cycles, and experimental results
Prepare the garden for public open days and private visits
Provide training and mentorship to junior gardening staff
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in gardening, horticulture, landscaping, or a related field
Demonstrated knowledge of plant propagation, pruning, and soil management.
Experience working in arid or high-temperature climates is preferred
Familiarity with irrigation systems and sustainable garden practices
Strong organizational and leadership skills
High attention to detail and a genuine passion for horticulture
