Systems Specialist - AIX

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience and insight into IBM AIX, and be comfortable working in an international environment.

This role will carry the responsibility of providing 2nd and 3rd level support on AIX and provide enterprise-wide Unix System infrastructure support for complex system and interconnected technologies that require day-to-day support and administration in order to maintain optimum performance and utilization.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage the operating system configurations and various day-to-day operational tasks.
• Support the server operating system, system management software and operating system utilities, including upgrades and migrations
• Recommend operating system updates and configuration modifications.
• Maintain tools for remote management and alert monitoring.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to platform and operating system.
• Corporate with other internal technical teams to continuously improve monitoring, operational routines and processes
• Coordinate changes with stakeholders and the customer

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience and “hands-on” exposure on IBM AIX is a must.
• Relevant Professional Certifications on IBM AIX.
• Exposure to other UNIX based systems such as Solaris, HP-UX and Linux.
• Basic understanding of enterprise grade storage systems (SAN’s) and networking.
• Experience on supporting large environments and heterogeneous environments.
• Ability to take initiatives and carry out expected tasks with minimum supervision.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written).
